La Taimada began in 2004 with the solo performance La Taimada inspired by the work of Egon Schiele, directed and performed by Olga Alvarez with the collaboration of Leire Llano (Videoart, Bilbao). The company worked with performance, movement and dance.
From 2004 to 2013 the company investigates through scholarships for creation (Kametta) with La Taimada. He makes a co-production (Teatro Cal Bolet) for the production of Silenci. It gets subsidy for Creators in Residence (EDAC) with Estimada Ventafocs, and a grant (ConCa) to write about the project (M) alícia; an investigation on the movement with the tutelage of Roberto Fratini. This project was in Residence in the Estruch of Sabadell and in La Caldera of Barcelona through a Passantia (Las Malqueridas, Creaciones al Límite). It also obtained a residency for Postmalícia (Centre Cívic La Barceloneta, Barcelona).
2013 is a year of transformation. The company creates Crash that was selected by the ‘Window of Internationalization of the Catalan Dance’ at the IPAM within the Festival Grec 2013, and with the same show was selected for the “Que dansi Qui Vulguis” to open the 2013-14 season of the Mercat de les Flors of Barcelona.
In December 2014, it obtained a Research Residency at the National Company of Dansa (CND, Madrid). In this residence are La Taimada and Jordi Cabestany in a research work on the internal movement of bodies, and the power of the image. From this meeting a reformulation of the company begins.
2015 La Taimada enters a new creative stage in a codirecció format between Olga Alvarez and Jordi Cabestany – visual artist and partner of the production company Centset – provoking a new focus on the look, the image and the work of the body.
2015 It made a residency with the Sortutakoak 7 program (Dantzagunea, Errenteria), creating a new dramaturgy Cuando el cuerpo habla inspired by the written dramaturgy of José Lainez Sola, choreographies for not dancing, with the collaboration of Donostia 2016 and Centro Huarte. (Donostia)
2016 With the team and the new ideology of the Taimada, Olga Alvarez with the visual collaboration of Jordi Cabestany, makes the artistic direction of Múltiples; a Specific Site located in Casa Pastor de Gerona for the Cia Impás (Temporada Alta, Girona).
2017 Premiere of The Eighth Day (Antic Teatre, Barcelona).
2017 Creation of Lo.Li.Ta performance work inspired by Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita, within the “Balla’m un Llibre” Program of the APdC, ICEC, and the Library Service of the Department of Culture.
